About the Owner
Welcome to The Bear Den at Double H Whitetails. You are being hosted by the Hochstetler Family, and we are excited to share a piece of our home, our farm, and our story with you. With deep Amish roots and a lifelong connection to this area, our family has always valued faith, family, hard work, and the importance of caring for the land we’ve been blessed with. This property has been part of our story for generations, and we are proud to share the beauty of our countryside with our guests. In 2009, what started as a hobby and a passion for whitetails grew into Double H Whitetails, which has become a leader in the whitetail industry. Through years of dedication, commitment, and a love for these incredible animals, we have built something we are truly proud of. The Bear Den is an extension of that same vision — a place where people can slow down, reconnect, and experience the peaceful beauty of farm life. Created from a repurposed farm building in 2025, The Bear Den was thoughtfully transformed into a comfortable retreat while preserving the character and history of the land. Our hope is that every guest feels the same warmth and hospitality that has always been at the heart of our family. Whether you are visiting to explore Ohio Amish Country, experience Double H Whitetails, enjoy time with loved ones, or simply relax in the countryside, we are honored to welcome you. Faith and family are the foundation of who we are, and we look forward to sharing a little piece of our story with you.
